SANTA FE - Mr. Dakota “Cody” Craig Hansen passed from this life Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Schulenburg.

Born May 31, 2001 in Texas City, Cody had been a resident of Santa Fe for 3 years previously of LaPorte. He was a sophomore at Santa Fe High School and attended Chocolate Bayou Cowboy Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, eating crawfish and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Mike Hansen.  Survivors include his mother, Rebecca Cain of LaPorte; father and stepmother Clayton and Amiee Hansen of Santa Fe; grandparents, Mike and Brenda Pantalion of Santa Fe, Richard and Denise Cain of LaPorte, Sharon Cain and Scotty Williams of Halletsville, Albert and Connie Bares, Jr. of Santa Fe; great grandparents Donald and Joyce Jolly of Santa Fe, Sylvia Sommer of Halletsville, Sonny and Barbara Manis of Texas City, Shirley Barnhart of LaPorte; sister, Kaitlynn Branch of Halletsville and brother, Tucker Hansen of Santa Fe.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Mr. Dennis Jolly officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Cain, Jr., Christian DeLaCerda, Justin Hansen, Darryl Jolly, Garrett Kilgore, Nicholas Laymance, Braxton Moorer and Matthew Ramos. Honorary bearers will be Riley Bautsch, Reece Hildebrand and Trevor Hildebrand

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
