Doris Mae (Bahr) Eckeberger

     SANTA FE - Mrs. Doris Mae (Bahr) Eckeberger passed from this life Friday afternoon, December 29, 2017, in Webster.

     Born January 31, 1934 in Alta Loma, Texas Mrs. Eckeberger had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. She had worked on a shrimp boat “The Aristocrat” and enjoyed horses, cooking, painting and gardening vegetables and flowers.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Albert and Dorothy Rebecca (Powers) Bahr, Sr.; brother, Robert Albert Bahr, Jr.

     Survivors include her sons, Gary Ryan of Santa Fe, Russell Ryan and wife, Stacey of Baytown; daughter, Janet Atkins of Algoa; niece, Vickie Rene Douglas and husband, Kirk of Santa Fe; nephew, Michael Robert Bahr and wife, Melinda; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor John Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.

     Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
