Edson Wayne “Butch” Carr
SANTA FE - Mr. Edson Wayne “Butch” Carr passed from this life Sunday morning, July 2, 2017, in Santa Fe.
Born February 13, 1949 in Galveston, Mr. Carr was a resident of Santa Fe for 22 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps before beginning his career as a police officer with the Galveston Police Department and Galveston County Sheriff’s Department. He earned his associates degree at College of the Mainland and retired as their Chief of Police in 2014. Butch enjoyed fishing, dancing, gambling, playing games on his computer and cooking bar-b-que.
He was preceded in death by his father, Buster Edson Carr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Millie Carr; mother, Lillian (Best) Carr of Santa Fe; sons, Russell Carr (Lisa) of Santa Fe, Curtis Carr (Sarah) of LaMarque, Jacob Raeburn of Houston, Jordan Raeburn (Amber) of Port Bolivar, brother, Jerry Carr of LaMarque, sisters, Sylvia Coleman of Santa Fe, Deborah Rankin (David) of Austin; brother-in-law, Lee Boughton (Susan) of Friendswood; sisters-in-law, Roberta Loftin (Charlie) of Pearland, Blair Strimpel (George) of South Rockwood, MI; grandchildren, Elizabeth Carr, Samantha Carr; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m Friday, July 7, 2017, with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Mr. George Strimpel officiating.
