Francis Edward “Ed” Lauzon, Jr.
SANTA FE - Mr. Francis Edward “Ed” Lauzon, Jr. passed from this life Saturday afternoon, March 17, 2018, at his home in Santa Fe surrounded by his family.
Born July 25, 1930 in, Galveston, Mr. Lauzon had been a long time resident of Santa Fe. He worked as a longshoreman with the ILA Local #20 for over 27 years. Ed was a graduate of Santa Fe High School, Class of 1949, he married his wife Ruby at First Baptist Church of Alta Loma and they were married for 64 years. He was a member of the church for over 50 years and had served as a deacon, being instrumental in the bus ministry. He was a member of Builders for Christ and the Lions Club, enjoyed camping and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Edward Lauzon, Sr. and Bertie Ethel (Freelan) Lauzon; wife, Ruby Elise (Bethune) Lauzon; sisters, Thelma Eloise Hydrick, Frances Elizabeth Clayton and Bertie Marie Cheatham.
Survivors include his sons, Francis Edward Lauzon, III and wife, Mary of Friendswood, Clyde Malcom Lauzon and wife, Mary, Bryan Ray Lauzon, Larry Bennett Lauzon and wife, Terri all of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Jamie Lorraine Tyrrell, Donna Christine Biddinger, Lisa Marie Tovey, Larry Bennett Lauzon, Jr.; great grandchildren, Evan Edward Tovey, Claire Francis Tyrrell and one on the way.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Arcadia Christian Church, with Dr. Jerry Smith and Pastor Jeff Spielman officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Cheatham, Jr., Clyde Lauzon, Bill Nolan, Larry Lauzon, Parry Lauzon and Mike Shoup.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Ed’s name to the charity of your choice.
