     SANTA FE - Mr. Guillermo “Willie’ Hernandez, Jr. passed from this life Thursday evening, March 2, 2017, in Texas City.

     Born June 1, 1957 in Edinburg, TX, Mr. Hernandez had been a resident of Santa Fe for over 45 years. Willie worked as an independent contractor delivering flowers, he was a member of Legends in League City and enjoyed playing pool, fishing, camping, bar-b-queing and being outdoors. His family was his life and he enjoyed spending time with them and especially his grandkids.

     He was preceded in death by his father Guillermo Hernandez, Sr. and wife, Judy Lynn Hernandez.

     Survivors include his fiancé, Sarah Pardee; mother, Geneva Hernandez; sons, Guillermo Hernandez, III and wife Ellen, Fabian Hernandez and wife, Dasarae, Christopher Hernandez, Derrick Hernandez and fiancé, Tyler; daughter, Rhiannon Hernandez and companion, David; brothers, Fabian Hernandez and wife Sandra, James Hernandez and 30 grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Hensley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.

     Pallbearers will be Christopher Hernandez, Derrick Hernandez, Fabian Hernandez (son), Fabian Hernandez (brother), Guillermo Hernandez, III and James Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Guillermo Hernandez, IV, Michael Hernandez and Kage Hoffman.

     Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
