     SANTA FE - Jake Linkey, Jr., 84, of Santa Fe went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He was born on February 16, 1933 to parents, Jake and Betty Linkey. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Jim Linkey, and sisters; Doris Riley and Mary Lou Rothermel.

     Jake is survived by his wife of 66 years Helen; sister, Betty Ann Dotson; children, Jake Linkey, III, Karen & Steve Upton, Cindy & Kim Stellhorn, Annette Stokes; grandchildren, Jake Lewis Linkey, Crystal Tabor, Christopher & Andrew Stellhorn, Kayla & Kyle Upton, Elayni Kinsey, George Stokes; great-grandchildren, Alexis & Tara Tabor, Cephas, Gideon, Silas, Eisley, & Amelia Stellhorn, Jake Austin & Jaxson Linkey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Jake worked as a dairy farmer, for the Water Works & as an operator at Monsanto/Sterling. He was a long time member of Arcadia Christian Church. Retiring in 1986, Jake enjoyed gardening, tending to his cows, and spending time with all of his grandkids.

     The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers: the ladies of Cynthia Fontanelle-Hudson and dear friends April Pothier, Teresa Nolan and Debbie Reitmeyer.

     Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Arcadia Christian Church, 14201 Beriton Street, in Santa Fe.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Arcadia Christian Church with Pastor David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, (409) 925-3501.

     In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Arcadia Christian Church.
