JAMES “JIM” LAWRENCE TASSIN

James “Jim” Lawrence Tassin, 72, of Santa Fe passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City. He was born November 24, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents Merlin “John” and Virginia “Jan” Tassin. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim had been a resident of Santa Fe for many years, previously of Galveston. He attended school in Galveston and was a 1963 graduate of Ball High School. He retired after 28+ years from the U.S. Postal Service in Galveston. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Sarah Tassin; children, Cammie Delesandri and husband, Dennis of Victoria, Texas, Roy Tassin and wife, Sheri of Santa Fe, Texas, Russell Tassin and wife, Charolotte of Santa Fe, Texas, Misty Hamrick and husband, Thomas of Bridge City, Texas; grandchildren, Stacie Robinson and husband, Thomas, Rachel Harris and husband, Milo, Sterling Dumesnil, Everett Tassin, Chloe Hamrick; great grandchildren, Callie and Carlee Robinson, Lane Harris; sisters, Patricia Jernigan, Laura Salas and husband, Ken, Jan Creppon and husband, Billy; brother, John Tassin; numerous nieces and nephews.

No services will be held per Jim’s wishes.
