Jennie Helen (Zukas) Lind

     HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE – Jennie Helen (Zukas) Lind of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away on August 8, 2018 at the age of 77. She was born on August 30, 1941 to John and Lucy Zukas in Jamaica Queens, New York and was raised and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Jennie married Walter Andrew Lind Jr. on September 7, 1968 in Houston, Texas. They were married for 46 years before his passing in October of 2014. She was of the Catholic Faith.

     Jennie worked as a legal secretary in West Columbia, Texas for most of her working life, before moving to Bar Harbor, Maine where she worked as a caregiver. She then retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where she was a member of the garden club and always enjoyed working in her yard. Jennie also enjoyed Friday night bingo, concerts and canasta with her neighborhood friends. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed walking her dogs, talking to her neighbors, meeting her friends at the dog park in Hot Springs Village and feeding “her” geese. Jennie also loved reading and playing games on her Ipad.

     She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Quinn and husband, Larry Marcanti of Allen, Texas (and sons Jeremy (Mandy) and Henry), Kelly Flynn and husband, Bill of Frisco, Texas and Kristin Wauson and husband, Mike of Eagle Pass, Texas; grandchildren, Shelby Quinn, Will Flynn, Drew Flynn, Rebecca Wauson Shippee (Luke), Abigail Wauson, and Hannah Wauson; great-grandchild, Hayden Shippee; sister, Frances Madsen and husband, Walter of Suffern, New York; nephews, John Madsen (Jennifer) and Matthew Madsen (Lynn); and numerous other loving family and friends.

     Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy; her husband, Walter, and her sister, Ellen.

     A memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Deacon David Bowman officiating.
