Larry Dell Yates

     BACLIFF - Mr. Larry Dell Yates passed from this life Saturday morning, May 25, 2019, in Bacliff.

     Born November 14, 1946 in Smiley, Texas, Mr. Yates had been a resident of Bacliff since 2018, previously of Livingston and Santa Fe. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, supported his family as a carpenter at Chocolate Bayou Chemical Company and privately after his retirement, enjoyed traveling, gardening, sitting on his porch and visiting with family and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Mavery and Lilly (Hotz) Yates; wife, LuAnn Yates; son, Buddy Phillips; sister, Marilyn Yates; brother, Wilburn Yates; brother-in-law, James “Bookie” Owens; great-granddaughter, Taylor Hallmark.

     Survivors include his son, Bobby Phillips, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Livingston; daughter, Kathy Ann Taylor and husband, Bo of Buffalo, Texas; brothers, James Yates and wife, Margie of Pasadena, Justin Yates of Livingston, Cris Yates and wife, Clovia of Livingston; sisters, Norma Herzik and husband, Leo of Alvin, Reba Owens of Bacliff, Dalene Ficklen and husband, Willie of Bacliff, Wilma Clark of Bacliff; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Karl Newmann officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.

     Pallbearers will be Troy Hallmark, II, Jandy Phillips, Calvin Stephens, III, Collin Stephens, Hunter Taylor and Cris Yates.

     Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.

     Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Larry’s name to Trinity Hospice, 9900 Westpark Drive, Suite 105, Houston, Texas 77063.
