PASADENA - Mrs. Marietta Ethel Smith passed from this life Friday, September 29, 2017, in League City.

Born October 14, 1920 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Texas since 1960. She began her career as a LVN with Deer Park Nursing in the 1970’s. Marietta was the oldest recognized member of The Church Triumphant in Pasadena, and she participated in the XYZ Club, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and loved doing community service work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Nora (Boatwright) Peters; husband, Leon Smith; sons, Mickey Smith and David Smith; daughter-in law, Phyllis Smith; grandson, Billy Smith.

Survivors include her sons, Chris Smith and wife, Terri of Dickinson, Jerry Smith and wife, Linda of Hitchcock; daughter, Leona Daniel and husband, Hubert of Baytown; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017, at The Church Triumphant, 1030 Strawberry Road, Pasadena, TX 77506.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
