Roy Gerald Grigg, Sr.

SANTA FE - Mr. Roy Gerald Grigg, Sr., passed from this life Wednesday morning, October 11, 2017, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital. 

Born December 9, 1941 in Alvin, Mr. Grigg had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard for 8 years, including operation deepfreeze to Antarctica and received several medals. He was a caring man who enjoyed oil painting, carving, drawing and exploring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayman and Janie (Moore) Grigg; brothers, Jackie R. Grigg, Camill Grigg, Lou Grigg, Guy H. Grigg; sisters, Joy Jones, Martha Wills.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Doris Grigg; sons, Donald Wayne Grigg and wife, Debbie, Roy Gerald Grigg, Jr., Jimmy Lee Grigg and wife, Jeanette, Mark Edward Grigg; daughters-in-law, Matilda Grigg, Debbie Norman, Heather Grigg; brothers, John W. Grigg, Michael P. Grigg, Benjamin A. Grigg; sister, Ann Maddox; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.

A celebration of Roy’s life will start at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at his residence, 5639 Highland Road, Santa Fe, Texas. A private cremation was conducted under the care of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas.
