Mrs. Sylvia Berry Noel of Arcadia went home to meet her Lord surrounded by her family and friends singing to her.  She was born September 2, 1933 and departed April 11, 2009 at 75 years, 7 months and 8 days of age. She was a lifetime resident of Arcadia where she attended Arcadia Christian Church and was a long time member of the Busy Bees Home Demonstration Club.  She relished in her family, devoting her life to them and it is evident by the love they showed to her.  She loved her Lord as well and it is obvious by the hundreds of children she taught in her years at Arcadia Christian Church and Santa Fe Christian Church.  No one who knew Sylvia ever doubted her dedication to Jesus and her family.

Preceded in death by her parents; her son, C. R. Noel, IV, and her granddaughter, Terry L. Derry, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Russell Noel; daughters and sons in law, Kay and Larry Cruitt and Toni and Tommy Miller; grandchildren, Cheris and Carl Franzke, Larry, Jr. and Melissa Cruitt, all of Santa Fe, Christopher and Tamara Miller of Ewing, N.J. and Rusty and Erin Miller of Rice, TX.  She also has seven wonderful great grandchildren that she loved deeply, as well as her sister, Jackie Grove of North Zulch, TX, a special cousin Nadie and E. E. Simpson and numerous relatives that will miss her laugh and her love of life.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Arcadia Christian Church, with Pastors Tom Medlin and Terry Gibson officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Miller, Larry Cruitt, Larry Cruitt, Jr., Carl Franzke, Christopher Miller and Rusty Miller. Honorary bearers will be Don M. Grove III, Mickey Jack Grove and Gary Dale Grove.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway Six, (409) 925-3501.
