HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Adith Patricia Register passed from this life Monday morning, August 29, 2022, in Hitchcock.

Pat was born March 3, 1935, in Lanark Village, Florida. It was there that she met Florida native, Charles Register and in 1952 they were married. The family eventually moved to Texas where Pat’s passion for volunteering helped so many. She was a volunteer for a free clinic in Dickinson and H.I.S. Ministries adult day care. She and Charles took those in need to doctor appointments or out to eat in their spare time. Pat had a true servant’s heart. She was a talented piano player/singer and would share her gift of music at the local senior center. She passed along her musical talent to her family as well. Pat loved her ice cream, especially a dipped cone from Dairy Queen. If there was an item that was green, you could bet Pat had it. It was her favorite color. Pat spent countless hours on family research, and it became a hobby of hers to track down the family genealogy. Her findings revealed a lineage of key soldiers and important figures in Texas and Florida history. She was extremely proud of her heritage and enjoyed visiting the sites where her forefathers once stood. Pat was a one-of-a-kind lady who will be greatly missed by those she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Ella (Martin) DuVal; husband, Charlie Register; son-in-law, Richard Longmire; sister, Mary “Billie” Branch; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include her daughters, Charlene Haygood and husband, Scott of Hitchcock, Denise Longmire of Santa Fe; sister, Avril McKenzie of Lynn Haven, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer Gerald and husband, Matt of Fairbanks, Alaska, Patrick Longmire and wife, Ariel of Bend, Oregon, Kami Haygood of Hitchcock; great-grandchildren, Bryce Gerald and wife, Braxton of Nenana, Alaska, Abigail Gerald of Fairbanks, Alaska, Joseph Ryan, Seth Ryan, Abbigail Ryan all of Hitchcock, Charlotte “Charlie” Longmire of Oregon.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
