LEAGUE CITY - Mr. Alwynn James Moffett passed from this life Tuesday morning, November 1, 2022, in League City.

Alwynn was born July 1, 1950, in Galveston to Lloyd and Esther Moffett. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam war. He was so pleased to have been apart of something bigger than himself. Alwynn loved to keep his mind busy by working crossword puzzles, but his favorite past time was reading any kind of mystery novel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Esther (Singleton) Moffett; sister, Esther Myrle Moffett; sister-in-law, Maurdine Moffett.

Survivors include his son, Samuel Alexander Moffett and wife, Kristin, brothers, William Lloyd Moffett, Leonard Curry Moffett and wife, Donna, John Wayne Moffett; sisters, Lillie Virginia Padgett and husband, Russel, Sonja Marie Dawson and husband, Doug; grandchildren, Clara Moffett and Greenley Moffett; numerous nieces and nephews.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
