Andrea Leigh (Bethune) Cruz

SANTA FE – Mrs. Andrea Leigh Cruz passed away from this life Thursday morning, July 18, 2024, in Santa Fe.

Andrea was born in Texas City on February 27, 1977, and grew up in Santa Fe. In elementary school, Andrea played softball, a passion that she would later enjoy sharing with her daughter. In High School she enjoyed being a part of the cheer squad where she practiced hair and makeup on all the girls. She took that love for making others beautiful and turned it into her career. Soon after graduating Santa Fe Highschool in 1995, she married the love of her life, Fausto Cruz, Jr., and went to school for Cosmetology. She was the family hairstylist who made sure everybody had a trendy look. The last couple of years, Andrea worked as a teacher at College of the Mainland, where she shared her knowledge of beauty with her students. Andrea was the life of the party who could talk to anyone. She loved supporting her three daughters in their interest and especially enjoyed traveling for softball games. She was a loving mother, dedicated wife and supportive friend to so many. Andrea was iconic in every sense, and we will continue to remember her in all things beautiful.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bethune.

Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Fausto Ramiro Cruz, Jr.; mother, Susan Bethune; parents-in-law, Fausto and Maria Cruz, Sr.; daughters, Jasmine Demi Cruz, Meiah Raquel Cruz, Naomi Leona Cruz; brother, Charlie Bethune; sister, Margot Bradley and husband, Josh; fur baby, Jet; and all the nieces and nephews who adored her.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Cullen Deese officiating.
