JAMAICA BEACH – Mr. Andrew Jonathan Kerr passed from this life Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in Jamaica Beach.
Andrew, known by most as Andy, was born on February 2, 1977, in Greensboro, North Carolina. As the youngest, Andy was loved and adored by not only his parents, but his sisters as well. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a Cub Scout. As a Boy Scout, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout – something he was most proud of. He attended Kingwood high school where he graduated in 1995; then he continued his studies at Texas Tech University where he became a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternal organization. His time at college gave Andy many great memories and lasting friendships. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, he moved to Jamaica Beach where he worked as one of the best bartenders on the island for many years. Andy loved having fun and taking things easy. He lived his life on island time. He loved watching the sunrise and set on the beach, riding his golf cart and listening to Jimmy Buffett. He was an avid fan of Texas Tech Football and Houston Astros, watching every game he could. Andy was the life of the party, loved by many, missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edmond Chancie Kerr, Jr.
