SANTA FE – Norma Azell McCaskill passed away at the age of 94 on January 24, 2026, in Santa Fe.
Norma known by all as Azell was born September 11, 1931, in Jacksboro, TX as the oldest of 6 siblings. The family grew up in a one-bedroom home and even though they didn’t have much, they still had each other. The kids learned the value of hard work early on by picking cotton and went through many hardships – one being the loss of their little sister in a home fire. At the young age of 19 she married the love of her life, Charles Robert McCaskill. The couple worked hard to provide for their family, owning and operating Tideland Grease Trap Services for many years. Azell loved growing and sharing her beautiful orchids along with her other flowers/plants. She was great with her hands. She was a wonderful quilter, needle worker, seamstress, mosaics and poetry. Azell traveled the world visiting over 34 countries and enjoyed her many road trips with Charles, Doris and Jim. She was a gentle and loving woman who will be greatly missed. So everytime you see an orchid, you can imagine Azell’s beautiful smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Beach and Mary Hazel (Hutton) Foster; husband, Charles Robert McCaskill; son, Charles Blake McCaskill; daughter, Renee McCaskill; great grandson, Caden McLin; brother, Kenneth Foster; sisters, Doris Davis, Sylvia Cox and baby sister, Delores Foster.
