Bettye Blanche Daigle
LA MARQUE – Mrs. Bettye Blanche Daigle passed from this life Saturday evening, June 4, 2022, in Clear Lake.
Bettye was the youngest of 8 children born to George and Arvia Dean on August 12, 1944. From an early age, Bettye was strong willed – which gave her the opportunity to grow into a savvy businesswoman. She moved to Texas with her daughters and opened Dean’s flower shop in La Marque on September 15, 1981. Keeping up the shop became a family affair to which it is still to this day. She enjoyed serving her community in their good times, and bad. Texas brought love to Bettye as well. In 1984, she married Richard Daigle – the love of her life. When she wasn’t busy at the flower shop or spending time with family, she enjoyed a quiet night at home or taking her chances at the game Keno. Through her work, she touched the lives of countless people, but she leaves a legacy that will continue for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Henry and Arvia Evelyn (Hooks) Dean and 7 siblings.
Survivors include her loving husband of 38 years, Richard Daigle; daughters, Janna Winstead and husband, Jeff, Sheila Milliken and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Rachel Calhoun (Chris), Patrick Milliken (Taryn), Josh Caudle (Kaylee), Shandon Land (Chris); great grandchildren, Aidan, Jareth, Samuel, Luke, Karis, Casen, Rhett, Emma, and Evan.
A memorial visitation with the family will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
