Billy Ray Ellison
GALVESTON - Mr. Billy Ray Ellison passed from this life Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Galveston.
Born September 19, 1947, in Galveston, Mr. Ellison had been a lifelong resident of Galveston. He was of the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Ball High School in 1966. Met his future wife Darlene Oglesby and they were married for 49 years before her passing in 2016. Billy served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and worked as an electrician for Amoco and BP for over 20 years. He was known as Mr. Fix It because there was nothing that was broken that he could not fix. His great love for his grandchildren helped him through his grief of losing Darlene. He enjoyed going to all their sporting events from softball to baseball.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Ellison; parents, Coleman F. and Ethel (Rosenkoetter) Ellison; sister, Barbara Huerta; brother, Ronald Ellison; nephew, Tom Oglesby, Jr.
Survivors include his daughters, Stacie Efram and husband, Dan, Brittnie Radzieski; brothers, Karl Ellison and wife, Anita, Clifford Ellison; grandchildren, Alvin Lee, Kaila Lee, Louis Radzieski and Bentleigh Radzieski; brothers-in-law, Tom Oglesby and wife, Barbara, Pete Huerta; nephews, Robert Huerta and Marc Huerta.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Chaplain Don Devens officiating.
