Mrs. Carmen Negrete passed from this life Saturday morning, May 3, 2025, in Santa Fe.
Born April 30, 1949, in Galveston, Mrs. Negrete was a resident of Santa Fe for most of her life, previously of California. Carmen was a dedicated machine operator for 30 years and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. In her free time, she found joy in the simple pleasures: sewing with care, solving crossword puzzles, and listening to her favorite music. She loved to bowl and was happiest when surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. Her warmth, devotion, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Claudia (Liquez) Perez; husband, Al Negrete; son, Ruben Ray Ybarra, Sr.; sisters, Tina Ybarra, Lupe Castillo, Liz Garza; brothers, Ernest Perez, David Perez.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Ybarra of Chino Hill, California, Robert Ybarra, Jr. of Covina, California; brothers, Frank Perez and wife, May Helen of Pearland, Jessie Perez and wife, Yolanda of Santa Fe, Rick Perez and wife, Donna of Austin; sisters, Sandy Hughes of Santa Fe, Mary Perez of Webster; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Larry Wilson, Celebrant.
Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday May 14, 2025, at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. recited by Mr. Don LeCompte.
