ALVIN - Mrs. Carol M. Guidry passed from this life Sunday morning, February 3, 2019, in Texas City.

Carol was born October 4, 1936 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Everett and Vera Martell (Bradford) Bushouse. She earned her A.S. in Nursing from the Catholic Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1957 and eventually moved to Texas where she began the first five years of her career at Danforth Hospital. Carol transitioned to UTMB and remained there for 22 years before retiring. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant and a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church for 25 years and of First United Methodist in Alvin for 20 years. She loved attending Bible studies and enjoyed reading the Bible. Carol had a great sense of humor which always kept her mother on her toes. She was a one of a kind daughter and friend who will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dell Guidry; father, Everett G. Bushouse; sister, Wanda S. Braucksick.

She is survived by her mother, Vera Martell Bushouse; her longtime friend and caretaker, Kathy McCravy; cousins, Bill and Joyce Blosser, Jay and Jan Westorp.   

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with Reverend Linda Snow officiating.

Carol’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Elmcroft Assistant Living in Texas City for their compassionate care. And lastly, Carol’s close friends that could always be counted on to make her smile. She loved you all very much.
