LEAGUE CITY – Mrs. Carol Ann Machupa passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday afternoon, December 13, 2025, in League City.
Carol was born on November 22, 1942, in Buffalo, New York. It was there that she met a neighborhood boy, William “Bill” Machupa. The two attended the local Catholic Schools but as soon as they could, they were hitched in 1960. As a true northerner, Carol was an avid Bingo goer – even traveling to Canada to hit the big jack pots. Bill and Carol needed a warmer climate to call home and in 1977 they moved to Texas. They enjoyed bowling on a league, having a tank full of freshwater fish in the house and taking annual trips to Vegas together. Their steadfast love for each other was beautiful. Carol enjoyed being in the sun, going to the beach and collecting seashells. She loved owning Boston Terriers and Boxers, playing cards, painting and tending to her flower garden. Carol was an avid shopper who loved passing the time by with a good word search. We’re glad that she’s finally reunited with those she missed here on earth, and we know that one day, we will see her again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Carmella (Celano) Pecoraro, Jr.; husband, William “Bill” Machupa; maternal grandparents, Nick and Mary (Rino) Celano; paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Angeline Pecoraro; great-grandson, Arlie Vester Spain, V.
Survivors include her son, William Machupa, Jr. and wife, Kalyn; daughter, Cheryl Sandoval and husband, Ronnie; cousins, Charles Nasca, Salvatore Nasca; grandchildren, Meghan Marie Spain, Arlie Vester Spain IV and wife, Jayda, Reece Sandoval, Rebecca Sandoval; great-grandchild, Mekailah Spain Hamman; grandpup, Birdie.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
