Caroline M. (Tyler) Whitley

SANTA FE – Mrs. Caroline M. Whitley passed away at the age of 90 on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Santa Fe.

Caroline was born September 5, 1935, in Smackover, Arkansas but grew up and finished school in Three Rivers, Texas. It was while in high school that she met Earl Whitley, and it was love at first sight. On her 20th birthday, Earl and Caroline were married. They loved traveling all over the United States together, visiting almost every state. The couple believed in The Lord and his salvation which guided their every move. Her involvement in the church went far beyond attendance on Sunday. She was active in the choir, community outreach to those in need and involved in ministry, just to name a few. Carolines walk with Christ inspired many to make that same life changing decision - to accept him in their hearts. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Alta Loma where she made many lifelong friends. Caroline had a wonderful sense of humor and colorful imagination, which kept her grandchildren and great-grandchildren occupied for hours. She loved being with them as much as she could. In her quiet moments, Caroline loved to read her bible, spiritual or motivational books. As much as we miss her, we know that she’s with our Lord and Savior walking the streets of gold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Mildred (Sutterfield) Tyler; husband, Earl Dee Whitley; daughter, Belinda Tuttoilmondo; granddaughter, Christi Hernandez.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Crumby and husband, Curtis; grandchildren, Lori Pittman and husband, Troy, Candice Carter and husband, Donnie, Keith Crumby and Megan, Kevin Crumby and wife, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Taylor, Carter, Bryce, Jadyn, Kaston, Paige, Lilli, Caydee, Mack, Shyenne, Peyton; great-great-grandchildren, Parker, Reese, Luke, Lane.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home,10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Pastor Alan Splawn officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Carter, Curtis Crumby, Kaston Crumby, Keith Crumby, Kevin Crumby and Carter Hernandez.
