SANTA FE - Mrs. Charlene Loyce Jacob passed peacefully from this life Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024, in Santa Fe with her family at her side.
Born July 28, 1926, in Texas City, Mrs. Jacob had been a longtime resident of Santa Fe, previously living in Hitchcock from 1947-1994. Charlene was a dedicated homemaker who taught painting from 2011-2016, enjoyed quilting and doing ceramics and was a longtime member of Midway Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Claudia (Long) Humphries; husband, Bernard Lee “Bernie” Jacob; daughters, Michelene “Mike” Jacob and Christelle Jacob; and her grandson, Christopher Jacob.
Survivors include her daughter, Tawy Muehe and husband, Clifford; son, George “Jay” Jacob and wife, Rhea; grandchildren, Sean Muehe and wife, Elishia. Ethan Jacob; great grandchildren, Brandon Muehe, Nicole Allen, Hailey Muehe; great-great grandchild, Damon Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Mr. Russell McLaughlin officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Midway Elders: Fritz Barnett, Wayne Hodge, Russell McLaughlin and Jackie Thornton.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Charlene’s name to Midway Church of Christ, Post Office Box 347, Hitchcock, TX 77563.
