Charles Longcoy Obituary

Charles “Scott” Longcoy

SANTA FE - Charles “Scott” Longcoy (40) of Santa Fe, Texas was born March 4, 1983, to Charles Craig and Theresa Lynn Longcoy in Texas City, Texas. After a lifelong struggle Scott made his way home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2023. His life was unconventional, he never settled, he roamed from town to town but always came home. From a very young age he struggled with being comfortable in this world. His life experiences were FAST, FUN and always Thrilling. He became a father at a very young age and that changed him. His role of being a father was incomplete, but he loved his son with everything he had. He later discovered he was the dad to a beautiful baby girl. His dad taught him the strength of being a man but being a momma’s boy gave him a great example of unconditional love. He did the only true job his parents expected of him, he was the ultimate protector of his baby sister. You could always find him wherever he was in this world with the biggest smile on his face, which made all those around him smile bigger. His love for the water was indescribable, he was an avid surfer, swimmer, and scuba diver. If you didn’t find him in the water, he was skateboarding down a hill which led to rolling down the hill, jumping dirt bikes 50 feet into thin air, crashing crotch rockets at 150 MPH multiple times, or jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. His bizarre personality made life interesting and always entertaining. His big heart and kind soul made the world fall at his feet. As a child he and his family were fortunate enough to travel to beautiful tropical destinations to scuba dive, but he also learned the value of life and the struggles that came with it. He lived life full of love and to the fullest, also by making his own rules. He made life-long friends that became family throughout the years and never met a stranger. His dark days were dark, but his heart was always full of light.

“The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” Psalm 34:19

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents; John and Joyce Longcoy, Eugene and Joyce Hamilton; his father, Charles Craig Longcoy; uncle, John Daniel Longcoy.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa Lynn Hamilton-Longcoy; his son, Dylan Scott Longcoy and fiancé, Kiley Rice; daughter, Ember Longcoy; sister, Christi Dawn Longcoy-Sharp and husband, Rusty Sharp; nephews, Christian Blayke Redmond, Andrew August Mathisen; nieces, Hailey Brooke Redmond and Ella Lynn Sharp and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
