Charles Marshall Surber, Sr.

Mr. Charles Marshall Surber, Sr. passed from this life Thursday morning, June 27, 2024, in Santa Fe.

Born July 22, 1947, in Dallas, TX, Mr. Surber had been a longtime resident of Santa Fe. Charles had worked as an industrial insulator and project manager in the construction business for over 40 years. He was a member of the John Mitchell Masonic Lodge #1401 AF & AM as well as the Insulators Local #22 in Houston. He coached and umpired local baseball, was an avid golfer and enjoyed dancing the jitter bug at “The Hop”, which he attended weekly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Harvey and Joyce (Cook) Surber and son, Charles Marshall Surber, Jr.

Survivors include his sons, Dusty Surber and wife, Nicole Nibert, Gary Wesley Surber and wife, Rebekah Leigh Goodman; daughter, Casey Surber Casey and husband, Michael; brothers, John, Glen and Ricky Surber; sister, Barbara Ann; grandchildren, Grayson, Dain, Brandon, Tristan and Gabriel Surber; fur baby, Miss Kitty; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Joshua McDonald officiating.
