SANTA FE – Chester Wayne Dore’ passed away at the age of 80 on May 18, 2026, in Webster.
Chester was born on October 27, 1945, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. At 21, he joined the U.S. Navy where he honorably served his country until his discharge in 1971. Soon after, Chester went to Oklahoma State Tech where he earned his associate degree in mechanics. He applied his education to his career at Schlumberger Jay Oil. Chester was a dedicated employee for 25 years. In that time, he met Faustina Sandoval, and they were married in 1988. Together, they were long time members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Chester loved his family, the time he shared with them and his friends were precious to him. He was a wonderful woodworker, crafting many household items like pens, chests, frames and spoons, just to name a few. Chester also loved vintage cars. He was the proud owner of a Chevrolet Chevelle, El Camino and a vintage pick up truck. Chester found peace in his garden and on the road riding his Harley Davidson, but some of his favorite memories were made when cooking. He loved gathering his friends and family for fish fry, shrimp and crawfish boil or Cajun cookouts. He was a wonderful man, but we know we will see him again one day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison G. and Lillian Ailene (Palmer) Dore’; sons, James Don Dore’ and Dwayne A. Keeler; dog, Chante.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Faustina Sandoval Dore’; son, Charlie Keeler and wife, Teri; daughter-in-law, Lisa Keeler; brothers, Lester Harrison Dore’ and wife, Sally, David Brian Dore’, Fred Dore’; sister, Denise Marie Dore’; grandchildren, Dlayna Ainsworth (Ryan), Dwayne Keeler, Charlie Keeler, III (Taryn) brothers-in-law, George Sandoval and wife, Belinda, Tom Sandoval and wife, Esther; sister-in-law, Louisa Rendon; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:15 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Deacon Alvin Lovelady officiating.
