Claude A. "Ben" Stansbury, Sr.

Mr. Claude A. “Ben” Stansbury, Sr. passed from this life Monday morning, September 30, 2024, in Houston.

Born March 14, 1929, in Port Arthur, TX, Mr. Stansbury had been a resident of Santa Fe since 2005, previously of the Beaumont area. “Ben” was a hard worker and had worked as a rice farmer from 1947-1981. Even when he wasn’t working, he was always busy with something but enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norwood T. and Ella (Quibedeaux) Stansbury; wife, Ramona Stansbury; sisters, Helen Roache, Barbara Kenneson; brothers, N.J. “Bud” Stansbury, Curnes Gabriell Stansbury.

Survivors include his children, Donna Gail Dickerson, Claude A. “Benny” Stansbury, Jr. and wife, Michelle, Bonita Joyce Jennings, Rodney Scott Stansbury and wife, Ellen; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Chaplain Tim Edwards officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Jacob Stansbury, Chris Stansbury, Michael Stansbury and Jonathan Jennings.
