Clay Steven Brown, Sr.

SANTA FE - Mr. Clay Steven Brown, Sr., 64, from Santa Fe, Texas, passed away in his sleep on November 10, 2023, after a long battle with lung disease and cancer.

Clay was born on October 19, 1959, to Erwin Lee Brown and Edith Lorraine Hughes Newlin in Galveston, Texas. Clay was a brother, father, grandpa, and friend. He spent his years as a carpenter, fisherman, bullshitter and caregiver to all. During his final years, he spent his time with many friends and neighbors. Traveled and visited loved ones. And made amends before returning to the Lord.

He was preceded in death by Erwin Lee Brown and Leanna Newlin.

Survivors include his children, Clay Steven Brown, Jr., Amber Kay Brown, Charlie Brown, Megan Leigh Brown, Logan George Brown; siblings, Ginger Brown, Jack Brown, Ervina Barmore and Mark Brown; grandkids, Cameryn Dickson, Peyton Brown, Emma Brown, Gage Brown, Clay Steven Brown, III, Carlie Brown, Io Lynn Hammel, Aeona Marie Hammel, Waylon Brown, Elle Kay Wroten.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
