BACLIFF - Clifford Ray Gallaway, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Clifford leaves behind his devoted wife, Cindy Gallaway; his cherished daughters, Jessica Maness and Spring Bates; his son, Michael Gallaway; his granddaughter, Amanda Gallaway; his grandsons, Jacob, Joseph, and George Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Ana and Alex.
Clifford spent most of his life working on the water as a commercial fisherman, a career that reflected his deep love for the sea. Whether at work or at home, he found joy and peace by the water’s edge, a passion that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Gallaway; his mother, Mary Gallaway; and his siblings, Alton, Bobby, Denny, Darrel, Leldon, Rodger, and Beverly.
Clifford was known for his outgoing spirit, friendliness, compassion, and independence.
The family will hold a funeral to honor his life and wishes, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Mr. Karl Newman officiating.
