Cynthia Ann Reese Trousdale, 69, of Santa Fe, Texas was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2019, in Houston.

Born March 11, 1949 in Pasadena, Texas to Tony and Dorothy (Floyd) Reese. As the second oldest of five children, she grew up in Bay City, Texas and in 1967, graduated from Bay City High School. Cynthia then moved to the Santa Fe area and attended College of the Mainland School of Nursing where she earned her A.A.S. and graduated Phi Theta Kappa in 1979. Throughout her Registered Nursing career, she always treated her patients with kindness and compassion by demonstrating that same nurturing care to not only those she cared for, but all that were around her. She was a strong leader that imparted her wisdom to anyone who asked for help. Cynthia also enjoyed reading books, movies, singing, dancing and spending time with her family. In her last days, her faith and love for the Lord never faltered, as she praised and worshiped Him through gospel music. It is said...”A life that touches others is never gone,” and Cynthia touched many lives in her time here with us.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents.

Cynthia is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Rae and Alan Eernisse and her two grandchildren, Payton Eernisse and Trevor Eernisse of Santa Fe; brothers, James Reese and wife, Brenda of Waco, Dennis Reese and wife, Shirley of Bay City; sisters, Teresa Mitchell and husband, Jeff of Bay City, Charlotte Reese of Bay City; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends.

Casketbearers will include Alan Eernisse, Trevor Eernisse, Cody Downs, Jeff Mitchell, Corey Reese and Michael Stanaland.

A visitation celebrating Cynthia’s life will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501 with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Cecil Whitton officiating.

She will be privately laid to rest alongside her parents at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
