Dana Castillo Obituary

Dana Anthony Castillo

SANTA FE - Mr. Dana Anthony Castillo passed from this life Wednesday morning, February 26, 2020, in Texas City.

Dana was born in Galveston on August 27, 1961 to Jesse and Lupe (Perez) Castillo. Although he was one of the middle children, his personality always stuck out. Dana was a huge jokester who was always finding new ways to prank family and friends. It was impossible to not laugh around
Dana, he was a big kid with a big heart. Dana was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He loved animals, especially his rescue pups, his family and his church. He was a devout Catholic who was a member at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for his entire life as
well as the ACTS team. Dana was also a proud team member of the Original Santa Fe Hell Raiser Cook Team and spent some time volunteering at the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Department.

His body may have slowed him down physically but his love for life and others were always a priority. We know our country boy is in heaven dancing and having a good ‘ole honky tonk time – like he loved so much.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse V. Castillo; beloved pup, Collin; grandparents, Louis and Claudia Perez, Lupe and Eulalio Vargas.

Survivors include his mother, Lupe (Perez) Castillo; sons, Darrell Castillo, Brad Castillo and wife, Kayla, Matthew Johnson and wife, Jessica; sisters, Angela Robinson and husband, Greg, Wanda Sanchez and husband, Jose, Diana Fleming and husband, Brian; brother, Robert Castillo
and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Emilia Castillo, Samantha Castillo, Karley Castillo, Karson Castillo, Wyatt Johnson, Mindy Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Reverend David Harris, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.
