SANTA FE - Mrs. Debra Gayle Carter passed from this life Thursday morning, September 23, 2021, in Santa Fe.

Born January 8, 1956 in Texas City, Mrs. Carter had been a resident of Santa Fe for most of her life. She was a nursing assistant with HCA Clear Lake and Mainland Hospital for 20 years and was of the Baptist faith. Debra enjoyed gardening and plants and her Weiner dog “Tilly” but nothing gave her more joy than spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Dean and Betty Gayle (Baker) Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd “Dickie” Hyder; daughters, Michelle Bland and husband, Craig, Amy Boman and husband, Ronny both of Santa Fe; sisters, Kathy Geddes and Tina Ekstrom both of Santa Fe; best friend, Traci Carroll of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Laney Bland, Sydney Bland, Garrett Bland, Tyler Bland, Carter Roberts, Nathan Boman; nieces, Lauren King, Jan Pirtle and ChrisTina Emerson.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
