Deidra Lee (Horn) Nichols

SANTA FE - Deidra Lee Nichols was born May 1, 1967, and passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, March 2, 2024.

After graduating from Santa Fe High School in 1985 she then attended nursing school where she received her nursing degree and began her career as a Registered Nurse. She served as a nursing aide then after a while she began her 10-year journey working at Waffle House doing what she did best, serving others until God called her home. She put her trust in Christ at an early age and was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church. Her most prized possessions were her two children, Tyler and Tara Lee and her grandson, Opie whom she loved spending time with. And like her mother, she enjoyed playing the piano and had a love for her dogs and grand dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Lee Horn.

Deidra is survived by her father, Bob Horn and wife, Joyce; son, Tyler Nichols; daughter, Tara Lee Nichols; grandson, Opie Nichols; brother, Joey Horn and wife, Lara; nephew, Marcus Horn; nieces, Megan Horn and Morgan Horn.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home.
