Donna Devereaux Obituary

Donna Devereaux

Ms. Donna Devereaux, 35, a resident of Santa Fe, Texas passed from this life after a battle with cancer on Wednesday morning, September 14, 2022, at UTMB Health Galveston surrounded by family. She was born on September 9, 1987, to Jennie Mancuso.

Donna leaves behind her loving partner, love of her life, and best friend, Michael Chapman who has loved her deeply and provided her with constant care over the past almost two years during her battle with cancer; Alexis Severin, daughter; Kayden and Robert Chapman; Jennie Mancuso, mother and Nathan Guthier, step-father; David and Diana Chapman; Barbra Mancuso, grandmother; Sam Mancuso Jr., uncle and wife Andrea; John Devereaux, brother and fiancé April Kravec; Stephanie Devereaux, sister; Joshua Chapman, wife Summer and their children Karlee, Jake, and Julia; and Scott Mancuso, Amiee Mancuso, Zachary Mancuso, Adrianna Mancuso, cousins; and a multitude of extended family and friends.

Preceding Donna in death was her grandfather, Sam Mancuso Sr.

Donna loved barbecuing with Michael on the weekends and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid fisherwoman; was an old soul who loved John Lennon and listening to the Beatles and Queen; and she enjoyed doing anything outdoors. Her very favorite place to visit during her battle with cancer was Brazoria County Wildlife Refuge where she could relax, enjoy nature, and forget about her pain for a few hours. Donna was a strong-willed independent woman who deeply loved life, her family, and her friends. She will be missed by all.

A very special thank you to Donna’s gyno-oncologist, Dr. Lois Romandetta and her team for always being there when we needed them. A special thanks to the nursing staff Lindsey, Ruth, Angela, and other staff on UTMB Galveston 9D, for caring for Donna and the family during her final stay.

A memorial will be planned at a later date and family and friends will be notified.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Morace Ward Memorial Scholarship at UTMB School of Nursing at Galveston.
