Donnie Rufus Lindsey
ALVIN - Donnie Rufus Lindsey, 84, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Baytown, Texas on November 7, 1937, to Martha Lucille (Whitefield) and Rufus Cornelius Lindsey. Donnie graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1956. He was Master Plumber and had owned 3 plumbing companies over the years. He taught plumbing at Milby High School in Houston for 19 years, he loved to fish and travel, spending his off time on either a motorcycle or a tractor and served as a missionary in Mexico for 10 years.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by his children, Blake Lindsey, Susan Bell, Tammy Luther, Kim Covington and daughter in-law, Charla Lindsey; sister, Mary Hayden; fur babies, Happy and Little Bit; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kent Lindsey; sister, Betty Foreman and 2 brothers, Horace and Lloyd.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at The Church on Mastersroad, 6911 Master, Manvel, Texas 77578, with Pastor Jason Lee officiating.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Donnie’s name to Alvin Animal Shelter, 1500 South Gordon Street, Alvin, Texas 77511.
