LA MARQUE – Mrs. Earline Kemmerling Couch passed from this life Wednesday evening March 19, 2025, in the year of our Lord.

She was a 1953 graduate of La Marque High and became a Real Estate Broker in 1968. Although she spent times working at different jobs including American National, Clear Lake Hospital, and Galveston Historical Society as a tour guide, her most cherished work was staying home raising her children and being a loving wife of 55 years to the late John F. Couch. Affectionately known as Wee Wee, it was with a great sense of priority and zeal that she would spend time pridefully entertaining her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Couch, Sr.; mother, Pearl Kemmerling; sisters, Mildred Marie (Boots) Cook, Elsie May Phillips, Patricia Georgia Harvey.

Survivors include her sons, John F. Couch II and wife, Susan of Santa Fe, Forrest L. Couch and wife, Cheri of Hempstead; daughter, Carolyn Spencer and Max Ingham of Seabrook; grandchildren, William Roland Guyton Jr., Jeremy P. Guyton, and Morgan Neill, Amberly Dawn Hall and husband Aaron, Forrest L. Couch II, and wife Megan, Jennifer Leigh Couch and Keith R. Trujillo, John F. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Cemetery. A reception and fellowship for family and guests will take place at Queen of Peace Catholic Church after the Graveside service.

Earline Couch was a good Christian woman, dedicated and faithful wife, and devoted mother, teaching her children Biblical morals and the ways of the Lord. Family was paramount and she was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren often heard telling others how blessed her family was. Wee Wee as they affectionally called her, was characterized by a loving nature and her wit and humor. Just the mention of her name would often elicit a smile or outright laughter among family, friends, and especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Additionally, she loved music and spent time as a part of the choir at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
