Eleanor “Babe” Stanard

SANTA FE - Mrs. Eleanor “Babe” Stanard passed from this life Monday morning, June 22, 2020, in Santa Fe, with her devoted daughter, Helen, at her side.

Born October 13, 1921 in San Antonio, Mrs. Standard (or “Babe” as she was affectionately known) had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1979, previously of San Antonio. “Babe” worked as a floral arranger for 15 years in San Antonio and loved creating something from nothing. She also enjoyed sewing, traveling, attending Arcadia First Baptist Church and was a big animal lover, especially dogs and cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille (Derrisaw) Perkins; husband, Charles R. Stanard, Sr. and stepson, Charles Richard Stanard, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Louise Hoover; brother, Jim Derrisaw and wife, Carolyn; and numerous family and friends.  

A private graveside memorial service will be conducted at Hayes Grace Memorial Park under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home at a later date.
