Elisabeth Hendrika Atchison

Elisabeth Hendrika “Elly” Atchison, a devoted traveler, business owner, and caring soul, gained her wings on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Webster, surrounded by family.

Born February 9, 1960, in Pasadena, she lived a wonderful and full life of adventure, kindness, and joy, always bringing her vibrant spirit to whatever she did. She had a strong faith in God, was a dedicated member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and gave her time to the Red Cross. She spent her life taking care of family and loved them more than anything else. Her appreciation for the ocean and travel took her to many beautiful places, she loved gardening and caring for her land, especially when tending to Joe’s Hay Farm after her father’s passing. Regardless of what she was doing, Elly found happiness in every moment with family and friends. One of her great joys was being an extra in the movie Urban Cowboy. She embraced life with warmth and resilience that touched all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Margaretha “Greta” Atchison; uncles, Ivey Atchison and wife, Evelyn, Louis V. Trochesset; cousin, Suzie Atchison Gorman.

Survivors include her aunt, Elisabeth “Ellie” Trochesset; cousins, Louis Trochesset and wife, Jeanene, Lori Atchison Weller and husband, Keith, Jeanette Trochesset Swafford and husband, James; second cousins, Kaitlin, Merry, Jordan, Hayley, Braedan, Halen.

Visitation family and friends will be from 11:00 – 12:00, followed by a funeral service at 12:00, Thursday, February 20, 2025, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Allen Martin officiating. Internment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Terry Laudig, Tracy Colston, Kayla Ramsey, Kristen Roy, Becky Davis-Hammons, Jill Boyer-Schaesser, Luis Flecha, Jr., Keith Mercado. Honorary bearers will be Leannah Palmire.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Elly’s caregivers and friends.
