SANTA FE – Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Jordan passed from this life Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025, in Santa Fe. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Born August 27, 1944 in Sealy, Texas, Mrs. Jordan was a resident of Santa Fe for most of her life. A devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Betty was active in the Altar Society and previously taught CCD, sharing her faith with younger generations. Betty worked as a teacher’s aide at SFISD, where she found joy in supporting students and making a difference in their lives. She had a passion for traveling, flower gardening, and the occasional bit of gambling, always embracing life’s adventures with enthusiasm. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness and dedication to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ebbie and Theresa (Novicke) Verm; brothers, Victor Verm and Randy Verm.
Survivors include her loving husband of almost 59 years, Kelly Jordan; sons, Stephen John Jordan and wife, Heather of Willis, Texas, Chris Jordan of Nassau Bay, Texas; brother, Bill Verm of Santa Fe; sisters, Dianne West and husband, John, Sandra Glover and husband, Tom of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Kaylee Jordan and fiancé, Cody, Travis Jordan and wife, Maddie, Ainsley Elizabeth Jordan, Anthony Jace Jordan; great-grandchildren, Brooks Jordan and Hayes Jordan; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Larry Wilson, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Kevin Dillon, Randy Dillon, Eric Glover, Travis Jordan, Gregg Verm and Jeff Verm. Honorary bearer will be Anthony Jordan.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., Monday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a Vigil Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Alvin Lovelady officiating. A Rosary will follow recited by the Alter Society.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Betty’s name to Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic School 10114 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563.
