HUMBLE – Ms. Erica Marlett Garcia went to join her father on Monday afternoon, July 3, 2023, in Kingwood.

Erica was born on February 20, 1977, in Ciudad Mante, Mexico. She grew up in a big family, but her personality stood out among them all. Erica brought so much excitement and joy to everyone’s life, especially when it came to parties. She worked as a customer service representative at the social security office by day but her second job was planning and hosting family gatherings and birthdays. Her parties were always lavished with decorations – some would say too much, but that was Erica, our party planner. Her addiction was Christmas. Every year she would take the old decorations down and buy all new ones. Knowing Erica meant knowing crafts. She loved crafting and was a quick learner when it came to new skills like sewing, making pinatas, quilting blankets… the list could go on. She loved to jam out to Mariah Carey and tend to her plants but above all, she loved keeping the family together. Her favorite colors were the bright ones, just like her, and we know we’ll see her shine bright again, one sweet day.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Lopez Garcia; fur baby, Chloe Kardashian-Cisneros.

Survivors include her mother, Manuela Garcia; children, Christopher Cisneros, Michelle Cisneros, Nicole Cisneros, Jonathan Cisneros; grandchildren, Lorraine and Leonel Vazquez; brothers, Oscar Garcia, Jr., Rafael Garcia and wife, Maribel; sisters, Ofelia Cisneros and husband, Polo, Daisy Garcia, Lorena Valencia; honorary children, Jacque Vazquez and husband, Jose, Alex Cisneros, Mateo Cisneros; fur baby, Nala; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Ermilo Cortez officiating.

A celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 18510 Campers Crest Drive, Humble, TX 77346.
