Erwin Lee “Cotton” Brown, Jr.

GALVESTON - Mr. Erwin Lee “Cotton” Brown, Jr. passed from this life Tuesday evening, January 11, 2022, in Webster.

Born March 29, 1951 in Galveston, Mr. Brown had been a lifelong resident of Galveston County. He was a truck driver with Todd Uniform Company for 20 years and attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Cotton, as he was known in the fishing community, was an avid fisherman and worked at the 61st Street Flagship pier and the 91st Street San Luis Pass fishing piers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin Lee and Edith (Hughes) Brown, Sr.; grandparents that raised him, Ervin and Anna Mae Brown; wife, Anne Brown; sisters, Leanna Newlin and Ervina Barmore.

Survivors include his sons, Chris Keller and wife, Barbara from Galveston, Billy Keller and wife, Stephanie from Texas City; daughters, Eugena “Jeannie” Brown from Orange, Jenny Frapp and husband, Michael from Louisiana; brothers, Mark Brown from Hitchcock, Clay Brown from Santa Fe, Jack Brown from San Antonio; sister, Ginger from Hitchcock; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private cremation will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
