ROSHARON - Mr. Foster Roy “Skip” Edmondson passed from this life Monday morning, January 15, 2024, at home in Rosharon.
Born September 9, 1941, in Texas City, Skip had been a long-time resident of Santa Fe before retiring to Rosharon. Skip graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1960 and later from Sam Houston State University in 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard and worked as an Asbestos worker out of Local 22 as well as an educator at Santa Fe Jr High for 15 years. Skip was a devoted husband, father, Mason, and farmer who loved fishing whenever possible.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Foster Elmer Roy Edmondson and Margaret (McClintock) Edmondson; first wife, Penny Speed Edmondson.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Michelle Edmondson; sister, Iris Lowe; children, Karen Edmondson Wagner and husband, Buddy Wagner, Robert York Edmondson, Michael McCormick and wife, Amanda McCormick, Joshua McCormick and wife, Candace McCormick, Sarah Wright and husband, John Wright; grandchildren, Frank Stump, Andrew Edmondson, Ethan McCormick, Blake Treadway, Evan Treadway, Elijah McCormick, Collin Wright, Madison McCormick, Ella Wright, Ian Wright, Liam McCormick.
A celebration of life will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Galveston County Fairgrounds Youth Building, 10 Jack Brooks Road, Hitchcock, TX 77563. All are invited.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Skip’s name to Shriner's Children’s Hospital, 815 Market Street, Galveston, Texas 77550.
