Frank A. Chapman

SANTA FE - Frank A. Chapman passed away at the age of 83 at his Santa Fe residence on November 6, 2025.

Born in Galveston on February 24, 1942, to Ardus and Martha (Mitchell) Chapman. In 1964 Frank married the love of his life, Nina Garibaldi. During their sixty-one years of marriage, they traveled the world together and treated each day like their honeymoon. Frank proudly served in the U. S. Army 82nd Airborne Division Special Forces and was a paratrooper in the Green Beret Special Forces from 1961-1966. After an honorable discharge, he was a Galveston police officer for 6 years, then years later he retired from Enterprise products in Houston after more than 30 years there. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 5400 and the American Legion in Santa Fe.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Ardus Chapman; mother, Martha Chapman and his sister, Melene Hunsley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nina Chapman; son, Justin Chapman; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the following persons: his neighbors, Gordon and Kathy Trahan for all of their help during this difficult time. His caregiver, Tameta Kadle with Visiting Angels, she cared for Frank with kindness, patience and understanding and even called him on her days off to check on him. We were blessed to have her. And also, Heritage Hospice for making these days easier for Frank and his family.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Mr. Don LeCompte officiating.
