Frank Dittmar, Jr. Obituary

Frank Leavy Dittmar, Jr.

WEBSTER - Mr. Frank Leavy Dittmar, Jr. passed from this life Saturday, August 6, 2020, in Webster. Frank was born March 22, 1939 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania; the only child to Frank and Mary Alice (Hickok) Dittmar Roberts. Frank was a talented young man who quickly found his niche in design. He started his career in the shoe industry where he worked as a shoe designer for several different companies including Spaulding. His creative flair and hard work ethic helped him to remain in the highly competitive industry for over 30 years. Frank’s career path took him all around the world but there was no place like home. As a father, Frank enjoyed being involved in Boy Scouts with his sons and creating one of a kind shoes for his daughter. But something was missing. In 1997, Frank was made whole when he met the love of his life, Elinda, and from there on they were inseparable. Their love brought together two families and he was affectionally know as Papa. Roger Vivier once said: To wear dreams on one’s feet is to begin to give reality to one’s dreams. That was just what Frank did. He lived his dream, he fought the good fight and in between, he touched the lives of so many. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Leavy, Sr. and Mary Alice (Hickok) Dittmar Roberts; wife, Elinda Hoff Dittmar.

Survivors include his sons, F. Chris Dittmar and wife, Chrissy of Middleton, New Hampshire, Mark Cresitello-Dittmar and wife, Kelly of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Thomas Hoff and wife, Tammy, Daniel Hoff and wife, Kim; daughter, Amanda Jetton and husband, Jeremy of Webster; grandchildren, Michael Dittmar, Shane Dittmar, Chrysta Dittmar, Faith Dittmar, Sarah Carr, Benjamin Dittmar, Bailey Jetton, Sarah Jetton, Kirsti Bennett, Tommy Hoff, Sean Roberts, Ryan Hoff, Daniel Hoff, Jessica Hoff; great-grandchildren, Shay Dittmar, Hadley Carr and Kinsley Bennett.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
