HOUSTON – Mr. Frank Ruiz passed from this life Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Houston.
Born October 10, 1957, in Galveston, Mr. Ruiz had been a resident of Houston for 25 years, previously of Galveston. Frank was a devoted maintenance technician for the City of Houston Health Department, and a proud member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. In his spare time, he was a true handyman who could fix just about anything and loved cheering for his favorite teams — the Houston Texans, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Astros. Franks warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio Ruiz and Margaret Ruiz Gutierrez; brother, Eugene Ruiz; nephew, Daniel Ruiz; niece, Jessica Cantu.
Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Bertha Ruiz; daughter, Melissa Ruiz of La Marque; sons, Frank Ruiz, Jr. and wife, Lori of Texas City, Steve Ruiz and wife, May of Texas City, George Alvarez of Houston; brother, Joe Henry Ruiz of Pearland; sisters, Yolanda Lopez and husband, Robert, Virginia Alvarado, Isabel Lopez, Monica Cortez and husband, Martin; grandchildren, Mark Ruiz, Alissa Ruiz, Annabel Ruiz, Mariah Ruiz, Julliana Ruiz; great-grandchild, Adonis Gutierrez.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, with Deacon Alvin Lovelady officiating.
