SANTA FE – Mr. Gene Edward Gordon, Jr., passed away at the age of 59 on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Texas City.
Gene was born on June 16, 1965, in Dallas. Soon after graduating high school, Gene enlisted in the United States Navy where he faithfully served his country until 1987. It would take him 14 more years to find his soul mate, Jennifer (Chenoweth). The two were married in 2009 and the blended family became his world. He loved his family fiercely, especially the furry ones. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, BBQing with friends and working with his hands. Gene was a talented craftsman who could build anything from a table to a house. He worked for the City of Santa Fe in the Street Department but took a short break to realize his long-time dream of becoming a truck driver. Gene was truly a jack of all trades. He will be greatly missed and always loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Edward Gordon and Mary Alice (Rivas) Sierra; sisters, Lois Renee Gordon and Maria Victoria Reyes; nephew, Roberto Miguel “Michael” Maldonado.
