HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Glenda Jane (Smith) Touchstone passed from this life Tuesday evening, November 7, 2023, in Webster.

Born August 6, 1954, in Waco, Mrs. Touchstone had been a resident of Hitchcock for most of her life and attended First Baptist Church of Hitchcock. Glenda enjoyed horseback and trail riding, and showed her love for animals by rescuing stray cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond John and Willie Mae (Harp) Smith, Sr.; son, Steven Wayne Touchstone.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 52 years, Richard “Rick” Touchstone, Sr.; son, Richard Dale Touchstone, Jr. of Texas City; daughter, Shannon Pruitt and husband, Alan of Hitchcock; brother, Raymond John Smith, Jr. and wife, Frances of Santa Fe; grandchildren, A. J. Pruitt, Shailynn Pruitt, Kerissa Renee Touchstone, Richard Dale Touchstone, III; great-grandchildren, Ava Pruitt, Kendall Pruitt, Elliana Garcia, Amado Garcia.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Joshua McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jose Garcia, Edward Hicks, A. J. Pruitt, Alan Pruitt, Kevin Rygaard and Richard D. Touchstone, III.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday in the parlor of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.

Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Glenda’s name to American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718.
