LEAGUE CITY – Mrs. Gracie Ethelene (Davis) Clark passed away February 13, 2024.

For 94 years she brightened the world with her gentle heart and loving kindness. Ethelene was born in Smith County, Texas on February 9, 1930, to Ethel and William Davis. She attended Arp High School until she married John Ray Clark on February 21, 1948, and moved to Texas City where she graduated from Texas City High School in 1948. She and Ray had 3 wonderful children: Barbara Elaine Crabtree, Bobbie Rae Weatherton and Daniel Gary Clark. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were old enough to stay home alone, and then she went to work as a cashier for Lerners. She loved bowling until she was in her 80’s, playing pinochle, going to garage sales, oil painting, and traveling. Some of her favorite world stops were Turkey, Egypt and Greece. Ethelene’s memories are honored by her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 sisters and 7 brothers, five of whom served in WWII.

A funeral service will be held at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563 on February 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.
