HITCHCOCK – Mrs. Helen Ray Tumlinson passed away at the age of 72 on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Hitchcock.
Born September 14, 1952, in Aransas Pass, Texas, Mrs. Tumlinson was a resident of Hitchcock for 2 months, previously of Manvel. Helen dedicated many years of her life as a medical secretary with Aransas Pass Hospital and Empiron Company, where her professionalism and compassion touched the lives of many patients and colleagues. Outside of her career, she was a faithful member of Coastal Community Church in Galveston, where she found strength and fellowship. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, her warmth and love were the heart of every occasion. Helen was also known for her wonderful cooking — a gift she shared generously, turning every meal into a memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Pauline (Hudson) Trimyer; husband, Donald Tumlinson.
Survivors include her sons, James E. Chittenden, Jr., and wife, LeAnne of Cleveland, Texas, Anthony J. Dobson of Manvel; daughter, Karen Newkirk of Hitchcock; sisters, LaDonna Early and husband, James of Rockport, Shirley Wiltshire and husband, Bobby of Ingleside; grandchildren, Brenden Chittenden, Arielle Chittenden, Sera Rivero; great-grandchildren, Ally Wright and Ruby Cerda.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
